She has been creating her own skein and dyeing the yarn as well.Hemp. Hemp has excellent absorption and breathability. It dries quickly and can dissipate heat. Unlike other fibers, hemp fabrics do not stick to the body when sweating because of its breathable quality. Hemp is also very well known for its anti-bacterial quality so it keeps the skin clean and fresh, especially during the hotter seasons. Heat retention makes the fabric less likely to generate static electricity.Since ancient times, Shinto traditions have used hemp for rituals and daily life. Hemp has been used in sacred rites for purification, exorcism, and inviting protection. In these rituals, hemp leaves are burnt or seeds used as offerings, woven wreaths made, and carrying leaves on journeys. Priests’ garments have been made from hemp/linen as well.Requires special care.– We recommend washing plant-dyed garments separately from other items. – To wash: cold water only – delicate cycle in a laundry bag or hand washed in cold water. – To dry: hung up to dry in shade or tumble dry low. – Avoid bleach & dry cleaning.From the computer screen, you won’t be able to feel the living dye on the shirt but when the creation is in front of you, you will feel the love of Ati and the essence of nature soaked up in the shirt.
